
Analyst Survey Finds IT Downgrades Estimated Spending Growth

A new survey of chief information officers by analysts at the Aberdeen Group believes that IT managers, the amount of degradation they expect to increase their technology budget.
In the last survey conducted in January of this year, business executives expected to increase science and technology budget of 2.7% in the next 6 to 12 months. A similar survey, Aberdeen, the CIO in September forecast of its overall budget has grown at 3.7 per cent in the next 6 to 12 months.
"The survey results show that IT spending growth will continue to slow and gradual in the next 6 to 12 months," Aberdeen analyst break bishops said in a statement . Bishop, Aberdeen still predicts the global IT spending growth of around 4 per cent in 2003.
In a somewhat mixed results, Aberdeen found that the average intent to purchase for all 35 categories of Aberdeen increased, while the average priority to purchase fell. "Aberdeens analysis, this data is that more organizations are considering new applications for the purchase, but have yet to enter the formal evaluation or purchase process," Aberdeen said.
