Microsoft will not release a new version of the application center, the server products introduced two years ago for the deployment and management of high-availability Web applications.

"As a discrete product, the last version of the application centre, in 2000," David said Hamilton, a senior executive in Microsofts enterprise management, product within the division. "Web-based applications become more mainstream, and are becoming fundamentally similar to other applications, we believe that they are different is a mistake." Monitoring network-based applications will be handled in the new Microsoft System Center, in the first phase will be a suite of systems management Server 2003 and Microsoft business manager, after 2004 will be a single integrated product.
