Intel Corp. this week announced that it is shipping upgraded version 64 Xeon processors, also said it would ship a new Xeon processor more than three months.
New 64-bit Xeon processor, codenamed "Irwindale" function to strengthen the follow-up second-tier cache memory reservoir, "dropping out of school, in compatible" with the previous Intel Xeon processor, Intels 64-bit Xeon processors and 2 million of L2 cache, in the 3 to 3.6 GHz, and cost from $ 851 to 316 for each of 1,000.
Intel plans to introduce the Xeon MP processor-based server platform with up to 8 MB of third-level cache, code-named "the Potomac" , within 90 days. Intel will ship entry-level four-way server platform for the introduction of the new Intel Xeon processor MP with 1 MB L2 cache, codenamed "Cranford," the company said in a public statement.
New server platforms will include a 64-bit Intel Xeon MP processor, a faster system bus, support for PCI Express and DDR2 - 400 memory and demand-based switching and enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology.
"The platform will also include Intel E8500 chipset, code-named Shuangchengpu, an advanced chipsets, designed specifically to support dual-core processors and dual-bus technology, data processing faster, "the statement said.
