Limited Group Testing 'R2'
Microsoft will double the scale of the Group of private testing Windows Server 2003 "R2" release, but the test group is still small compared to the scope of Microsoft released the beta version of the operating system.

R2 is the same, the second version of Windows Server 2003. Its packaging will be divided into two CD-ROM - which contains the basic operating system another containing a number of optional enhancements and features, some of which have been previously provided for free downloading. Once R2 access will be the default version of the Windows Server 2003 ships with new weapons systems.

Public beta version of R2 is planned before June. Dependent on the operating system version of the Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1, and the current release candidate on the 2nd in the pilot phase.

Early in private testing of Windows Server 2003 R2 is in progress, about 1,500 testers. A Microsoft spokesman said that in the beginning of this month said that the company will be increasing the 1300 test, bringing the total number of testers 2800.

Although this is a significant test group for most software companies, Microsoft pre-release software, and they can test tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of pool users. For example, rc1 version of the Windows Server 2003 SP1, a relatively small item, as a preview to achieve 86,000 customers launched in the end of this month.
