Alcatel Sues Microsoft for Alleged Patent Infringement
French telecommunications equipment maker Alcatel SA Tuesday said it had sued Microsoft in the United States federal court patent infringement.

Alcatel Shanghai Bell made two complaints Friday with the United States Federal District Court in the eastern part of Texas, seeks compensation for what the Paris-based company that is a violation of its intellectual property rights.

Alcatel spokesman Stephen Lapeilade not comment on the details of the case, but said the company has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft, "so as to safeguard Chinas interests in a fair compensation for their intellectual property rights. " "We hope that this issue can be resolved through discussions, and not the courts," he said.

Previously sued, Alcatel had reportedly informed Microsoft what is believed to have been unfair use of patents, according to court documents.

Microsoft has not filed response to the complaints.
